Washington, DC – On Wednesday, July 25th, FMCSA
and ATRI will co-host the third in a series of national trucking
industry “webinars” that provide peer-to-peer insights on the
impacts and opportunities associated with on-board safety systems.
The July 25th webinar will highlight motor carrier
experiences with collision warning systems, addressing issues such
as safety return-on-investment (ROIs), maintenance and driver
perspectives. Trucking company representatives can simultaneously
listen and watch the live webinar from any location in the U.S. that
has internet and telephone access.
In addition to FMCSA and ATRI presenters, the collision warning
system webinar will feature Philip Jennings, Director of Safety and
Training for Saia Motor Freight and Marc Boyle, President of Boyle
Transportation. Both carriers have extensive experience with the
use of collision warning systems, and how they impact trucking
industry safety and productivity.
Previous FMCSA/ATRI webinars featured industry experiences with lane
departure warning systems and stability control systems. Future
webinars will address wireless communication of safety data, and the
role of truck parking on fatigue and safety.
To register for the collision warning systems webinar, carriers
should send an email to
FMCSA_Host@dot.gov and include the words “CWS Webinar” in the
subject line.
